Level of Competition:
Attack encourages the development of players at a variety of levels. Our teams compete at both the Open and Club levels at local, regional, out of region, and national tournaments. All teams will compete at the highest level appropriate for that team and the coach will determine the level of play. Our lead teams typically do not take waivers.
Awards and Honors Achieved by Club:
Lead teams have always finished in the top 20 teams of their age group in the region. Some of our teams have qualified for the Junior National Championships. Majority of players go on to play for their high school varsity teams. Many players from the club have gone on to play at various collegiate levels.
Locations Used for Practice:
Ferguson/Florissant and Hazelwood school district gyms are typically used. However, other metro area gyms, community centers, and churches have been used.
HISTORY: Attack VBC draws players from all areas of the region. Attack VBC began in 1993 and merged that year with Angels Volleyball Club that had a previous 9 years of existence. The club expansion accommodates several age groups all over the metro area for girls.
BUDGET/FEES: Player fees will vary by age groups and is primarily determined by each team's schedule of competition. Each player will make an initial payment of $150-$350 at the team registration meeting. Payment schedules to follow are determined by projected cost for each team. These are typically handled on a monthly basis. Previous total player costs have ranged from $10 (when fees were offset by fundraising) to $600 for the younger age groups, depending on travel, and have gone to $900 or more for actively traveling teams for National Qualifiers and the Junior National Championships (JNC). Teams have often used fundraising as an effective method for reducing player fees. The Club can offer fundraising ideas and opportunities; however, each team's coach(es) and parents must help to initiate these efforts and see them through. The player keeps all uniforms, bags, and sweatshirts purchased through the fees. Team fees also include: player and coaches' registration and background waiver checks, coaching IMPACT certification, coaching continued education costs, player uniform suite, tournament entry fees, practice gym rental, equipment, and club/coach administrative fees. Coaches are reimbursed for room and travel expenses for out of town tournaments, and receive a modest stipend for gas and food. Each team’s budgets are kept separate and do not go to support any other team in the club. If for any reason a team has a remaining balance in their account by end of season, it will be returned to the players.

Club Fees: Once we determine how many tournaments we are going to get into, then we will know for sure what the overall costs are going to be, but my estimation is in the vicinity of $500 - $600. Any unused $$ will be refunded at the end of the season. These fees will only go towards the costs of the team and equipment. There will be no $$ paid to the coaches.

We are a brand new club starting this year. Our focus will be on coaching the player in the fundamentals of volleyball, while competing at the highest level appropriate for the team that we field. The team will be coached by Adriel Avila (Coach Odd) and Sandy Avila. We both played volleyball at the collegiate level at Central Missouri State University. Adriel played for the Mules’ club team and Sandy played for the Jennies’ NCAA Division II team that won their respective district 15 years in a row and placed 4th in Nationals in 1994 and 1995 (Sandy’s Junior and Senior years on the team). Adriel was a starting middle hitter and back-up setter. Sandy was the starting defensive specialist.

Now fully integrated, High Performance – STL draws from the success of two earlier clubs. Team St. Louis & St. Louis High Performance are combined into ONE Club with ONE Mission. We promote elite volleyball by providing exceptionally dedicated coaches who train athletes to play at their highest level. Through this we teach life lessons and foster a love for the game. In addition, our coaches’ relationships with college coaches across the United States provide our players with advantages in pursuing opportunities in college and beyond.
Yearly, the USA National Teams and National Camps invite several of our players to participate. Our players have an excellent opportunity to be seen by collegiate coaches and obtain scholarships. Scholarships to play collegiate ball have been offered to 85% of our graduating boys and 97% of our graduating girls. Every year we have teams finish in the top 10 at the USAV Jr. National Tournament. We earned four USAV National Championships: 2007 Boys 18 Open, 2005 Boys 17 Club, 1997 Girls 17 Club, and 1996 Girls 16 Club. See our website www.stlhighperformance.org for additional awards and finishes.

Level of Competition:
Kirkwood Volleyball Club has traditionally competed extremely well in the Club Division of USAV. KVC has consistently been one of the top club performers each year within the Gateway region. The younger aged teams are designed initially to be the developmental/training teams which evolve at year's end into competitive programs. The players gain an appreciation for not only the skill required to play the sport but also the team interaction required to excel at the upper age levels. The older aged teams are traditionally very competitive and travel to tournaments that provide that level of competition as applicable. Each team sets their own end-of-year goals. However, the USAV National Tournament or the Volleyball Festival are typically where the teams set goals to finish.
