Level of Competition:
Attack encourages the development of players at a variety of levels. Our teams compete at both the Open and Club levels at local, regional, out of region, and national tournaments. All teams will compete at the highest level appropriate for that team and the coach will determine the level of play. Our lead teams typically do not take waivers.
Awards and Honors Achieved by Club:
Lead teams have always finished in the top 20 teams of their age group in the region. Some of our teams have qualified for the Junior Olympics. Majority of players go on to play for their high school varsity teams. Many players from the club have gone on to play at various collegiate levels.
Locations Used for Practice:
Ferguson/Florissant and Hazelwood school district gyms are typically used. However, other metro area gyms, community centers, and churches have been used.
HISTORY: Attack VBC draws players from all areas of the region. Attack VBC began in 1993 and merged that year with Angels Volleyball Club that had a previous 9 years of existence. The club expansion accommodates several age groups all over the metro area for girls.
PHILOSOPHY: The Attack Volleyball Club mission is to develop strong physical skills for volleyball competition and mental character for life. Team sports can develop skills that lead to success in adult life. Nurturing these skills and a love for the sport remain a primary club goal. Our club directors and coaches believe that playing volleyball created immeasurable opportunities, experiences and memories for them that would not have been possible without involvement in the sport. It is because of this and their commitment to the sport that they volunteer to offer those similar benefits and experiences to the young players of today. We encourage well-rounded athletes and are dedicated to creating a balance for players between reducing junior player burnout while supporting players with goals to advance past high school competition.
BUDGET/FEES: Player fees will vary by age groups and is primarily determined by each team's schedule of competition. Each player will make an initial payment of $250-$350 at the team registration meeting. Payment schedules to follow are determined by projected cost for each team. These are typically handled on a monthly basis. Previous total player costs have ranged from $350 to $600 for the younger age groups, depending on travel, and have gone to $900 or more for actively traveling teams for National Qualifiers and the Junior Olympic Volleyball Championships (JOVC). Teams have often used fundraising as an effective method for reducing player fees. The Club can offer fundraising ideas and opportunities; however, each team's parents must help to initiate these efforts and see them through. The player keeps all uniforms, bags, and sweatshirts purchased through the fees. Team fees also include: player and coaches' registration and background waiver checks, coaching IMPACT certification, coaching continued education costs, player uniform suite, tournament entry fees, practice gym rental, equipment, and club/coach administrative fees. Coaches are reimbursed for room and travel expenses for out of town tournaments, and receive a modest stipend for gas and food. Each team’s budgets are kept separate and do not go to support any other team in the club. If for any reason a team has a remaining balance in their account by end of season, it will be returned to the players.

Now fully integrated, High Performance – STL draws from the success of two earlier clubs. Team St. Louis & St. Louis High Performance are combined into ONE Club with ONE Mission. We promote elite volleyball by providing exceptionally dedicated coaches who train athletes to play at their highest level. Through this we teach life lessons and foster a love for the game. In addition, our coaches’ relationships with college coaches across the United States provide our players with advantages in pursuing opportunities in college and beyond.
Yearly, the USA National Teams and National Camps invite several of our players to participate. Our players have an excellent opportunity to be seen by collegiate coaches and obtain scholarships. Scholarships to play collegiate ball have been offered to 85% of our graduating boys and 97% of our graduating girls. Every year we have teams finish in the top 10 at the USAV Jr. National Tournament. We earned four USAV National Championships: 2007 Boys 18 Open, 2005 Boys 17 Club, 1997 Girls 17 Club, and 1996 Girls 16 Club. See our website www.stlhighperformance.com for additional awards and finishes.

St. Louis High Performance is introducing online registration for tryouts. This will help organize your registration information, and will prevent long lines and waiting at tryouts. Visit the web site, http://www.stlhigherformance.com
All participants will be charged a $15 tryout fee for 13s-18s, and $10 for 10s-12s, this fee covers the expenses of gyms and operating the tryout and includes a numbered HP T-shirt that all players get to keep. - Necessary forms (USAV Junior Tryout Waiver) can be completed in advance and brought to the tryout. - STL High Performance grants age waivers in the following age groups: 10s, 11s, 12s, 13s, and 14s for Boys ONLY. Please refer to the USAV guidelines for the Junior Age Definitions for the current season.
Please contact Jill Gerber at jlgerber@sbcglobal.net in advance if you would like to schedule a makeup tryout. We will attempt to accommodate you if possible with other options.
