USAV GJNC Earned Bids 14-15s...

Gateway Region teams are seeing success outside our region at National Qualifiers!

In a rarity for our region, only one of our region's teams was able to secure a bid at a qualifier before the Donna Mayer Bid Event, with HPSTL 15 Orange earning their Liberty Bid at the MEQ.  Rockwood 15 Navy held the rights to the region's Freedom Bid at the start of our region's Bid Event, so there was only 1 National and 1 American bid to award.

HPSTL 15 Royal finished 1st place, earning the National Bid, with Rockwood 15 Elite finishing 2nd place and accepting the American Bid.  HPSTL 15 Orange retained their Liberty Bid with a 3rd place finish, while Rockwood 15 Navy retained their Freedom bid in 4th place.  An additional Freedom Bid was re-allocated to our region on May 14th, and was awarded to FVA 15-1, the next team in line to earn the bid.

A 15s National Bid was re-allocated to our Region on May 16th.  Rockwood 15 Elite accepted the National Bid, which trickled their American bid to Rockwood 15 Navy, which in turn, accepted the American Bid.  Consequently, their Freedom Bid trickled to, and was accepted by Rockwood 15 White.

HPSTL 14 Royal earned their Open Bid in Florida at the Sunshine Classic.  Their regional Freedom Bid trickled to HPSTL 14 Orange.  Easter weekend was enormous for our region at 14s.  BSVBC 14 Black finished in a position to earn a USA Bid at the Windy City Qualifier, while across McCormick Place, HP Illinois 14 Select was the Libery Division Champion earning their Liberty Bid in Chicago.  Across the plains, in KC, Top Notch 14U Elite earned their Liberty Bid on their championship run to 1st place in the division.

So at the start of the Donna Mayer Bid Event, there was 1 National and 1 American bid to award.  Rockwood 14 Elite took 1st place earning the National Bid.  HP Illinois 14 Select placed 2nd but were ineligible for the American Bid, as their earned Liberty Bid was a higher ranked bid.  HPSTL 14 Orange finished 3rd and relinquished their Freedom bid to accept the American Bid.  The Freedom Bid trickled to Core STL U14 Navy who finished 5th.

Gateway Region was awarded two re-allocation bids - a 14s Freedom Bid on May 11th, and a 14s National Bid on May 12th.  The Freedom Bid trickled to the 4th place finisher HTH 14-1.  However, the re-allocated National Bid was declined by HP Illinois 14 Select, but accepted by HPSTL 14 Orange, which then forced a trickle down of their American Bid HTH 14-1 who took it. Their 1-day old Freedom bid then trickled to Rockwood 14 White, the 6th place finisher.

An additional 14s Freedom Bid was re-allocated to our region on May 16th, and was cleanly (no messy trickle down) awarded to Rockwood 14 Black, the 7th place finisher from Gateway League Bid Weekend.
